Da Adolfo

Via Laurito, 40
Positano, Italy

Only in Italy would your choice of beach for a day in the sun revolve around the food. Da Adolfo on Positano’s remote Spiaggia di Laurito is the whole reason to visit this little oasis. The food is superb and most locals know to reserve the whole day for a Laurito trip and three-hour lunch at Da Adolfo. When I visited with my friend and Positano native Antonio, I let him order for us and the result was an array of Chef Salvatore’s house specialities: Mozzarella on grilled lemon leaves, seafood salad, carpaccio and grilled whole fish, washed down with chilled house white wine with sliced peaches. Okay, so it’s not ideal to house all of that deliciousness and then return to your sun lounge with a food baby bulging out of your bikini, but I’d like to believe that Italians celebrate this. Again, only in Italy.
