I may have been a few cocktails for the worse of it when I first encountered S’Mac, but from the first bite it was ingrained in my memory.  The great thing about S’Mac, formally named Sarita’s Mac and Cheese, is that its outstanding comfort food at a reasonable price.  I love to take my budget-conscious visitors here for nap-inducing fare after a few happy hour beverages at the Blue Owl around the corner.

The mac and cheese comes in three sizes, made to order in a personal cast-iron skillet, with or without (why would you ever do without?) breadcrumbs sizzling on top.  I am partial to the Parisienne, a combination of brie, mushrooms, figs and rosemary.  I’m drooling just writing this…
