I first discovered the Duke of Clarence pub when visiting London with my mom as it was just a short walk down the road from where we were staying.  When I moved to London, I was happy to discover that my temporary flat was an even closer walk down the road. 🙂  The pub has a decidedly more upscale feel than your standard London boozer, but it still comfortable and fun.  We made fast friends with the manager, the lovely Karen, and enjoyed a great night with even greater service.  Mum had some amazing soup while I had pasta.

I had my first glass of Pimms at DoC and celebrated “Gin-dependence Day” there this year with a free gin drink for all Americans.  The pub has a lot of fun themed nights and is full to bursting during sporting events.  The menu is supplemented with daily specials though I’ll save you some trouble deciding – just order the burger.  It’s excellent.  And I’m American, I should know. 🙂
